"Late last year, the pool room that I have been frequenting for 30 plus years, Danny K's in Orange, Ca. switched from their old box-style pool table lights to the Perimeter pool table lights. While they do light up the table really well, I immediately noticed that they also cast just as much light off to the sides. Through the course of my first tournament, I found myself squinting and eventually getting a bit of a headache because with 16 tables in the tournament area, there was no direction I could look where there wasn't an intense light source staring me in the face. I actually found myself playing fewer tournaments after a while because of this.

A couple of months ago, I came in on a Saturday to play in a tournament and Abe Lim of Vortex-3DP was there installing the FOCUS Light Diffusion Systems on all of the table lights. I could not believe the difference. I instantly noticed that the light haze that had previously been hovering in the air with the Perimeter lights was gone and that I could no longer directly see the light source from them. I also realized that there was no noticeable difference to the table surface itself.

I'm not sure how to describe how much this changed the experience of just being in the room. The way that comes to mind is to compare the experience before installation to being in a room where there is white noise coming through the speakers, and then it was turned off. It is just so much more relaxing and pleasant. The difference is night and day.
